THE LOCATION
At nr. 11, Reguliersgracht you will find a bar-restaurant called Hooghoudt. It is originally an old warehouse building called 'De Zon en De Maan', The Sun and The Moon, that has been perfectly restored. Maley of the attributes you'll find inside come from the Hooghoudt distillery located in Groningen, they help create a warm, cosy atmosphere.

THE RESTAURANT
Our modern yet gastronomic kitchen serves various traditional and typically Dutch dishes along with changing seasonal dishes. Whenever possible organic products are used. We accept all major creditcards, Dutch PIN-cards and we accept the Dutch DinerCheque.

THE CAFE
In our café our guests have the opportunity to taste several kinds of jenevers and liqueurs made in Groningen. During this so called 'Rondje Hooghoudt', you will be informed about the history of the distillery and its traditional drinks.

THE MUSIC
To listen to music whilst enjoying a meal in a public house was a good custom in former times. Herberg Hooghoudt revives this tradition with Hooghoudt Live: every Friday and Saturday night features live music in widely varied styles. Programmed are mostly various gipsy and gipsy jazz orchestra's in an unrestrained atmosphere, whereby you can enjoy outstanding musicians with a drink or a complete meal.
